Michael van de Velde began his photo career at the age of 14. Michael immediately set a very high level, starting with an analog camera. With this camera, he made his first macro photographs of butterflies., After a few years, Michael made the switch to a digital camera. With a Nikon D70s and 18/200mm lens, Michael joined the 'Fotovakschool' (School of Photography). At the end of the first year, Michael became the most progressive student in his class.

In 2004, Michael linked his first passion to the next, namely photography with Ferrari. Until 2007, he sharpened his skills in the real world at the Official Belgium Ferrari Club. Many pages of those Club year books were decorated with Michael's breath taking photographs.

During the year 2007, Michael was ready for the next challenge, circuit photography. For the final exam of the Fotovakschool, Michael went to the English Silverstone circuit, where he made upfront racing driver Sandro Mucelli his main subject. Beside that, special guest Bruno Senna, nephew of the great Ayrton Senna, used a couple of Michael's photos of this event on his Official website. A huge honor as starting photographer and big Senna fan.

From that moment on, Michael's main clients were Ferrari Challenge and Ferrari F1 Clienti drivers, and included one of the richest men in the US. Bianca and Bruno Senna also didn't forgot Michael. Michael received his first accreditations to GP2 and Le Mans Series. Drivers like Bruno Senna, Jean Alesi, Giancarlo Fisichella, Gianmaria Bruni, Jaime Melo Jr., Enrique Bernoldi, Vitali Petrov, Jerome D'Ambrosio, Nico Hulkenberg, Kamui Kobayashi, Oliver Panis, Pastor Maldonado, Sergio Perez, Giedo van der Garde, Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish, Tom Coronel, Marc Gene, Nigel Mansell, Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher are already captured on photograph by Michael.

At the end of 2009, beside all this motor sport action, years of investments on a Professional photo gear and experience, Michael had a new client. Michael worked 10 months with great pleasure to bring the local news for ZieZeeland.
